What does a man get for all the toil and anxious
striving with which he labors under the sun? All
his days his work is pain and grief; even at night
his mind does not rest. This too is meaningless.

I've been meaning to mention that I appreciate what is seemingly,
your Labor of Love - that is, your quotes. Although, come to think
of it, you didn't write them, somebody else made that happen. So
forget it. :)

A union shop steward is addressing a union meeting:

"Men, we have agreed on a new deal with the
management. We will no longer work four days a
week."

"Hooray!", goes the crowd.

"We will finish work at 4 PM, not 5 PM."

"Hooray!", goes the crowd, again.

"We will start work at 10 AM, not 9 AM."

"Hooray!"

"We have a 150% pay rise."

"Hooray!"

"We will only work on Wednesdays."

Silence...then a voice from the back
asks, "Every Wednesday?"

Although A.Q. posters normally don't personally write
the quotes they post here, many of them do transcribe
(or cut & paste) them from other sources (books, web
sites, movies, etc.) for the benefit of AQ readers.

Since expressions of appreciation are rare here,
AQ posters take whatever they can get. Thanks,
Bob Gnome (I guess!) :)

ObQuotes:
A great thought is a great boon, for which God is to

It is more pleasant to do good to the grateful, but
it is more honorable to do good to the ungrateful,
for then we have God to be our paymaster.
